Requirements
To enter Mali, travelers need a visa and an immunization record that can at least prove that
they have been vaccinated against yellow fever. Travelers must have their own sleeping bags
and tents, flashlight, mosquito nets, walking shoes, malaria prevention medicine, mosquito
sprays or lotions, and comfortable clothes. Others immunizations are recommended but not
required.
Required Documents for Visa Application
- Valid passport
- Two (2) recent passport size photographs (glued on the application forms)
- Two (2) completed application forms
- A copy of an airline itinerary or flight ticket
- A copy of the yellow fever immunication certificate
- Tourists must submit copies of their hotel reservations
- The appropriate visa application fee of $100, in cash, money order or certified check (payable
to the embassy of Mali). No personal checks are accepted. An additional fee of $10 will be
charged for rush service. The visa process may take up to 5 business days.
- Applicants may pick up their passports at the embassy or send a prepaid self-addressed
envelope. It's recommended that applicants send a return envelope with a tracking number to
be enable tracking.
