Here is a list of things you may need:
- Clothes made of cotton for hot weather (not white, because of dust)
- Sweaters (if between November and February)
- Swimsuit
- Large scarves or bandanas to protect your head and face from the the wind and dust
- A hat and sunblock lotion for protection against the sun
- Sun glasses
- Flashlight
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Sandals or flip flops (rubber ones)
- Toilet paper (in Mali people use water only)
- Towels
- Money belt
- Backpack (not too big)
- PRN kit
- Soap, shampoo, feminine hygiene products (for women)
- Tent or sleeping bag
- Hair dryer and iron if you want (but keep in mind that the power outlet in Mali is 220)
- Disposable razors
